Imegen emprende el proyecto OncoPanel-TMB Plus con título Nueva herramienta integral para la identificación de biomarcadores de inmunoterapia de precisión, contando con el apoyo de la Fundación de Investigación del Hospital General Universitario de Valencia. El objetivo principal del proyecto es el diseño, desarrollo y validación de una nueva metodología capaz de calcular los niveles de carga mutacional tumoral (TMB) junto con otros biomarcadores, de manera que permitirá seleccionar con mayor precisión los pacientes candidatos a un tratamiento con inmunoterapia, logrando mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes y reduciendo los costes sanitarios asociados al paciente._x000D_ _x000D_ La principal innovación tecnológica que aportará la novedosa solución que propone la empresa se basa, principalmente, en el desarrollo de una nueva herramienta genómica, única en el mercado, capaz de llevar a cabo, mediante un único análisis rápido, eficaz y económico, la caracterización global del paciente con el fin de conocer su idoneidad para ser tratados con inmunoterápicos de última generación. Esta nueva herramienta evaluará un número reducido de genes para la cuantificación de TMB, así como otros parámetros como la expresión de genes y proteínas, neoantígenos, estado de inestabilidad de microsatélites y objetivos comunes, logrando resultados más fieles y en un tiempo inferior al que ofrecen los métodos existentes en la actualidad. Imegen undertakes the OncoPanel-TMB Plus project with the title New comprehensive tool for the identification of precision immunotherapy biomarkers, with the support of the Research Foundation of the General University Hospital of Valencia. The main objective of the project is the design, development and validation of a new methodology capable of calculating the levels of tumor mutational load (TMB) together with other biomarkers, so that it will allow to more accurately select patients for treatment with immunotherapy, achieving improved quality of life of patients and reducing the health costs associated with the patient._x000D_ _x000D_ The main technological innovation that will bring the innovative solution proposed by the company is based, mainly, in the development of a new genomic tool, unique in the market, able to carry out, through a single rapid, efficient and economical analysis, the overall characterisation of the patient in order to know his suitability to be treated with immunotherapeutics of the latest generation. This new tool will evaluate a small number of genes for TMB quantification, as well as other parameters such as gene and protein expression, neoantigens, microsatellite instability status and common objectives, achieving more faithful results and at a shorter time than the existing methods offer.
