En el presente proyecto de investigación nos proponemos demostrar que el riesgo cardiovascular medido mediante el índice íntima-media carotídeo tras la cirugía metabólica disminuye en los varones intervenidos, siendo de mayor cuantía no solo en aquellos que experimentan una mayor disminución del exceso de grasa corporal y grasa abdominal, sino también en aquellos que mejor corrigen el déficit de testosterona asociado a la obesidad. Para ello planteamos un estudio prospectivo de intervención, no aleatorizado, con dos técnicas de cirugía metabólica y un grupo control en varones con obesidad grado 3 o grado 2 con factores de riesgo cardiovascular asociados candidatos a cirugía metabólica. In this research project we propose to show that the cardiovascular risk measured by the intima-media carotid index after metabolic surgery decreases in the men involved, being of greater magnitude not only in those who experience a greater decrease in excess body fat and abdominal fat, but also in those who best correct the deficiency of testosterone associated with obesity. For this we propose a prospective, non-randomised interventional study with two metabolic surgery techniques and a control group in men with grade 3 or grade 2 obesity with cardiovascular risk factors associated with metabolic surgery candidates.
