(Slovenian)

The purpose and objective of the RDI project is to develop and manufacture steel with increased machining with improved micro-purity. Steels with increased machining are manufactured by changing the type, size, content and distribution of micro-includes, which ensure proper removal of material (e.g. breakage of shavings) and lubrication of tools. It should be pointed out that the chemical composition of the steel does not change and that the existing steelmaking process with increased machinability can be used in any steel quality. Cleaner steel, made with classical technology, has a lower machinability than steels with increased machinability. The aim of the project is, however, that the newly developed steel will have the same or greater machinability as steels with an increased machinability at the same time micro-purity of conventional steels.
