Στα βραχώδη πρανή του Κάστρου της Μονεμβασίας υφίσταται πολυετής ετοιμορροπία των επισφαλών τμημάτων των τειχών και του βράχου η οποία εγκυμονεί κινδύνους τόσο για την ασφάλεια των κατοίκων και των πολυάριθμων επισκεπτών του οικισμού, όσο και των υποκείμενων διατηρητέων κτισμάτων. Με την υλοποίηση του έργου εφαρμογής μέτρων στερέωσης των βραχωδών πρανών του Κάστρου θα βελτιωθούν οι συνθήκες ευστάθειας των πρανών με διάφορες προτεινόμενες μεθόδους, όπως τοποθέτηση μεταλλικών πλεγμάτων, αγκυρώσεων, τοποθέτηση βροχοπαγίδων. In the rocky slopes of the Castle of Monemvasia there is a long-standing readiness of the precarious parts of the walls and the rock, which poses dangers for the safety of the inhabitants and the numerous visitors of the settlement, as well as the underlying conservation buildings. The implementation of the project implementing measures for the fixing of the rocky slopes of the Castle will improve the stability conditions of the slopes by various proposed methods, such as fitting of metal mesh, anchorages, installation of rain traps.
