The RF-META proposal concerns the creation of an independent distinct research centre with RF applications of electronic circuits, using adaptive metamaterials, through the installation and availability to the wider research community, a cutting-edge research infrastructure, for the construction of original devices and their experimental testing in the laboratory. The aim is to attract young researchers from Cyprus and the external and evolution of the research center into a Center for the Promotion of Excellence. The research infrastructure will be hosted at the premises of the University of Cyprus, and the Lecturer of the EMY Department will be responsible. Dr Markos Antoniadis, a young scientist with internationally recognised research activity in the field of high-frequency metomaterials. The Centre will combine the research activities and the needs of the following bodies: Frederick Research Centre, Open University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology, University of Birmingham, and two representatives of the industry, SMEs. SignalGenerix Ltd and SIGINT Solutions. The RF-META centre will create the infrastructure for the construction and experimental control of high-frequency devices. In particular, it will ensure the following equipment: Laser milling machine, Inkjet Printer and 3D Printer, Wafer Probe Station, Vector Networ Analyser and anechoic Chamber. The research infrastructure combined with the recruitment of 4 new doctoral students will be decisive for the implementation of applications tailored to the needs of the S3Cy Priority Sectors and especially in the areas of Tourism, Health and Transport; It’s a shipping operation. SignalGeneriX Ltd και SiGiNT Solutions. (Greek)
