The feasibility study will obtain knowledge about and map actors in the construction and real estate sector in Jönköping County and see what needs and opportunities the actors have to build more sustainable. The study is led by Energikontor Norra Småland and is co-financed by Jönköping County. The aim of the feasibility study is to look at the challenges and opportunities that the construction and real estate sector has to build with reduced climate impact, better energy efficiency and increased focus on resource efficiency, reuse and circular material flows. For example, the proportion of wooden houses in Jönköping is lower compared to nearby counties. Here, the preliminary study wants to investigate what actors in the construction and real estate sector need to increase sustainable construction and renovation so that Jönköping becomes a sustainable, attractive and competent county. The primary target group for the feasibility study is private and public actors in the construction and real estate sector, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. Sustainability requirements are increasing in all types of construction projects. The fact that the companies in the sector remain up to date on these aspects is a prerequisite for maintaining competitiveness and in the long term keeping operations alive. The feasibility study will generate proposals for new implementation projects and business ideas as well as collaborations for the target group that will contribute to the development of the construction and real estate sector in the county. In the long term, the preliminary study’s proposals for projects and collaborations will create business opportunities for small and medium-sized actors in the construction and real estate sector that contribute to more sustainable construction where recycling and circular material flows are taken into account.
