Kronoberg County’s small companies face major external challenges, ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, increased globalisation, government demands, environmental requirements, digitalisation, competence supply and efficiency. There is a great need for the county’s small companies to develop their skills. These companies often have a lack of resources in terms of finance, time, staff and knowledge. The project offers competence development with the help of experts in a number of areas. In this way, the core business of companies can develop and grow. Today, the county’s business-promoting system cannot offer a broad and customised advisory support that is open and accessible to all small companies in the county. Through Growth Analysis report Follow-up of 2014‘s start-up companies three years after startup, you can see that the county has among the lowest figures in the kingdom both at start-ups and when it comes to new companies’ survival rate. In addition, Covid-19 affects many of the county’s companies and will do so for a long time to come. The need to support small companies in the county in order to develop their skills and in the long run strengthen their competitiveness is probably greatest now. The Consultancy Hour 2.0 develops the advice support that was tested in 20172019 through Region Kronoberg’s project consultancy support for small companies in Kronoberg (called Consultant Hour). A large demand and continued business development need among the county’s small companies prompts this developing project. The project aims to offer simple, needs-adapted and accessible business support. The project will offer up to six free hours of advice to all small companies in all industries in the county. The support will benefit many; women and men, both domestic and foreign born, who run companies with 049 employees, regardless of corporate form. The support is offered in the form of customised advice and business development in several areas of expertise. The Consultancy Hour 2.0 will be developed with more and developed areas of expertise towards previous projects, as well as more advisory consultants who together contribute to an even more adaptable support for the project’s broad target group. To meet the biggest challenge of previous projects, to reach and get more companies to use the support, this new project will through a survey increase knowledge of the target group’s attitudes towards business development, advice and public support. Knowledge that will then be translated into target groups adapted and strategic marketing to different industries and industries. The starting point is that the design of the support should be administratively simple for the entrepreneur and should in turn attract groups of entrepreneurs who usually do not apply for or receive business support and who rarely take part of the existing business promotion system. Participating companies should thus increase their understanding and knowledge of what external expertise can contribute, increase their consulting experience, and be given the opportunity to increase their competitiveness. The overall goal of the project is for the small companies in Kronoberg County to have strengthened their competitiveness. The project goal is for more companies in the region to demand and gain access to external expertise for business development. In order to reach out to and get more companies to demand external competence, the support should be completely digital and require minimal efforts for application and follow-up. The activities consist primarily of advice to companies through quality assured business development consultants, as well as strategic and target-oriented marketing. The project will collaborate with the municipalities’ business managers, business promoting organisations, as well as other similar projects and initiatives within as outside the county. The Consultancy Hour 2.0 is an investment in complementary business support, which gives a large number of companies the opportunity to take advantage of public funds in a simpler way than existing systems. Without the project, there is no risk of increased competitiveness in the county. (English)

Utan projektet riskerar stärkt konkurrenskraft utebli i länet. (Swedish)
