The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth’s preliminary assessment states that there is a market problem in relation to external equity capital. Especially in small enterprises in early phases. The regional programme has therefore considered it justified to continue the investment in regional venture capital funds implemented during the programme period 2007-2013. Almi Invest has applied to set up a new fund and thus continue its investment from the previous period but now focusing on previous phases. In the coming period, a new fund will be established in Östra Mellansverige of SEK 150 million. Together with co-investors, it intends to provide at least SEK 300 million to the region’s companies and to invest in 35-40 companies. At least 15 % of new investments must be made in each individual county. The overall goal of the initiative is to ensure long-term capital supply in the region. The Fund aims to revolve capital in order to be reinvested in new regional projects/companies. This means an expectation that the exit funds received must correspond to at least the originally invested capital. The high risk profile of investments should therefore be motivated by a high potential value growth in each individual investment. Almi Invest will continue its work to find investment targets with potential in collaboration with the regional industry. For the coming period, presence in all counties and intensified work with sustainable development and gender equality are areas that will be developed. (English)

I synnerhet i små företag i tidiga faser. (Swedish)
