This project responds to the problems identified on the border area, connected with low communication accessibility, poor quality of road infrastructure, inefficient transportation system and insufficient preparation of local governments for the implementation of cross-border transport projects. Within the project it is planned to build and rebuild the road sections, important for local and regional transport network, located in the municipalities of Jabłoń, Milanów, Rossosz, Sosnówka, Wisznice and Parczewski poviat in Poland and in the municipalities of Znamienka in Belarus and Zabrody (Ukraine). The overall objective of the project is increasing communication accessibility of the partner communities on the border area of Poland, Belarus and Ukraine. The main project outputs are: 1. Total length of newly built roads – 7,91 km 2. Total length of reconstructed or upgraded roads – 11,58 km 3. Number of districts benefitting from modernized/created transport infrastructure – 6 4. Number of partnerships established in order to modernize/create the environmentally friendly transport systems– 1 5. Number of elaborated strategies regarding improvement of transport system/region accessibility – 1 The project will contribute to improving the quality and development of transport infrastructure, have a positive impact on the improvement of transport and communication in the border area, increase the accessibility of peripheral areas and facilitate the use of the partner municipalities’ potential. Execution of planned activities will reduce travel time on the selected road sections by 30%, for the benefit of all road users: residents, farmers, tourists and economic operators. The long-term crossborder impact will be enterprise growth and improving the quality of residents’ life. (Polish)
