Trať je elektrifikována střídavou trakcí 25 kV, současná traťová rychlost je 100 km/h. V řešeném traťovém úseku se nachází zastávka Níhov, která bude rovněž předmětem rekonstrukce.Obsahem stavby je rekonstrukce železničního spodku, svršku, mostů, tunelů a technologických zařízení s cílem zvýšení traťové rychlosti a bezpečnosti železničního provozu.
