Przedmiot projektu obejmuje modernizację oświetlenia zewnętrznego w oparciu o energooszczędną technologię LED w ciągach komunikacyjnych oraz innych ogólnodostępnych przestrzeniach publicznych oraz stworzenie innowacyjnego systemu zarządzania energią, którym będzie nowoczesny system sterowania oświetleniem. Nadrzędnym celem proj. jest podniesienie efektywności energetycznej infrastruktury oświetleniowej oraz zminimalizowanie nakładów finansowych przy jednoczesnej poprawie bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego i ogólnodostępnych przestrzeni publicznych. Realizacja wniosku przewidziana jest w formie ukierunkowanego terytorialnie pakietu i obejmuje obszar leżący na terenie gmin: Żukowo, Somonino i Chmielno. Modernizacja wpłynie korzystnie na poprawę parametrów infrastruktury oświetleniowej, przyczyni się do redukcji kosztów związanych z jej funkcjonowaniem, wpłynie korzystnie na ograniczenie zanieczyszczeń powietrza (m.in. redukcję emisji CO2) i przyczyni się do promocji zrównoważonego rozwoju.
