This project responds to the low practical skills of pupils of Forest Techniques in Białowieża and a lack of adaptation of the teaching base to the needs of vocational training. The problem of low-quality practical competences is mainly due to the lack of adequate space and tools for students to learn about the actual working conditions of the forester. The subject of the investment is the reconstruction of the existing boiler room building with the change of use of part of the rooms for teaching purposes and the equipment of the newly created workshops for use and protection of the forest and machinery studies. The aim of creating a workshop is to reflect the actual work of the forester’s technique. The target group of the project is students of Forest Technique in Białowieża, who will use the workshop during practical classes. Each year, the school recruits for 60 students into the technical classes of foresters. The implementation of the project will also contribute to improving the competences of future employees who are already familiar with practical aspects of professional work in accordance with the direction of education. The project assumes cooperation with regional entrepreneurs, thanks to which added value will be obtained both for pupils who learn the practical technical and organizational aspects of future employers, as well as companies themselves, which in the future can acquire trained graduates without having to invest in raising the qualifications of newly employed workers. The project’s assumptions are complementary to actions included in the project implemented by the School under measure 3.1.1. For more information on the complementarity of projects, see Section IV.7 of the proposal and the Feasibility Study. Implementation of the tasks is planned for the third quarter of 2018-Q. 2020. (Polish)
