The basic research and research and development carried out in the project will concern the definition of the mechanisms for the exfoliation of modified graphite and natural and product innovation, consisting of the production of solid and plastic lubricants with graphene and graphene oxide fillers. It is estimated that friction is the main cause of the wear of engines, equipment and machinery. More than 70 % of the mechanical damage in the engine is caused by friction. According to tribological studies, the supply of a small amount of grease to the contact zone with a thickness of 100 nm results in a tenfold reduction in friction force and a hundred-fold reduction in wear. Practice shows that the most effective way to improve lubricating properties is to introduce fillers into lubricants, i.e. substances not soluble in plastic warp and not disturbing the structure of colloidal lubricant. Solid lubricants (graphite, molybdenum disulfide, PTFE, soft metals) are filled with plastic lubricants. In the product innovation of the project, it is proposed to use graphene and graphene oxide as a filler. (English)

(Polish)
