The object of the project is to carry out research works, which will result in the development of technological process of production of styrofoam modified with graphene, showing increased thermal insulation properties. A scientific consortium was established between the scientific partner & The Technical-Humanistic Academy in Bielsko Biała and the industrial partner of – Sempre Farby sp. z o.o. As a result of the project, the industrial partner intends to implement a new insulating material in its own production – graphene styrofoam, which will be used in: — single-family construction, public buildings and industrial halls for insulation and finishing of walls of attic ceilings, floors, foundations, cellars. — for thermal modernisation of buildings, – for the production of architectural elements, – for the production of packaging. — as acoustic baffles and in special cases as protective screens for PEM.     Przedmiotem projektu jest przeprowadzenie prac badawczych, których efektem będzie opracowanie procesu technologicznego produkcji styropianu modyfikowanego grafenem, wykazującego zwiększone właściwości termoizolacyjne. W celu przeprowadzenia prac badawczych zawiązane zostało konsorcjum naukowe pomiędzy partnerem naukowym – Akademią Techniczno-Humanistyczną w Bielsku Białej oraz partnerem przemysłowym – firmą Sempre Farby sp. z o.o. W wyniku realizacji projektu partner przemysłowy zamierza wdrożyć do własnej produkcji nowy materiał izolacyjny „styropian grafenowy”, który znajdzie zastosowanie w: - budownictwie jednorodzinnym, w budynkach użyteczności publicznej i halach przemysłowych do izolacji i wykańczania ścian sufitów poddaszy, podłóg, fundamentów, piwnic. - do termomodernizacji budynków, - do produkcji elementów architektonicznych, - do produkcji opakowań. - jako przegrody akustyczne, a w szczególnych przypadkach jako ekrany ochronne dla PEM.
