The project was located in the south-eastern part of the Municipality of Krosno in the area of the registration plot number 2746/1. The plot is owned by the Municipality of Krosno, while MPGK Krosno Sp. z o.o. is its perpetual user. In this area the Elektrociepłownia Łężańska, which belongs to the Department of Heat Energy of the Municipal Enterprise for Municipal Economy in Krosno Sp. z o.o., is being operated. The project includes the construction of a biomass-fired water boiler in the form of wood chips (as the most available fuel) with a capacity of 7 MW. The new biomass boiler planned to be implemented within the project will be installed in the existing boiler room in the coal boiler hall. In view of the fact that no increase in total heat production in the CHP plant “Łężańska'” is expected, there is also no expansion of the installation of main water preparation, degasifiers, pumping plants, etc. The new boiler will be plugged into the existing system parallel to the existing coal boilers, which will allow both its own operation and with any boiler. The biomass boiler will have a separate cleaning and exhaust system. The connection of the installation of renewable energy sources to the grid will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 10 April 1997 – Energy Law (Dz. U. of 2012, pos. 1059, with late.). The efficiency of heat production in the biomass boiler will be above 85 %. The project shall include the implementation of: a biomass water boiler with a heat capacity of 7 MWth; exhaust after-treatment systems: cyclone battery (optional), electrostatic filter, alternatively fabric filter and chimney height of 30 m; boiler supply conveyors; the necessary accompanying construction work for the adaptation of the existing hall to the construction of the new boiler, with the adaptation of the existing foundations for the new boiler and exhaust after-treatment installation. Przyłącze instalacji odnawialnego źródła energii do sieci zostanie dokonane zgodnie z przepisami ustawy z dnia 10 kwietnia 1997 r. - Prawo energetyczne (Dz. U. z 2012r. poz. 1059, z późn. zm.). Sprawność produkcji ciepła w kotle biomasowym wynosić będzie powyżej 85%. Przedsięwzięcie obejmuje wykonanie: a) kotła wodnego na biomasę o mocy w cieple 7 MWth ; b) układów oczyszczania spalin: bateria cyklonów (opcjonalnie), elektrofiltr, alternatywnie filtr tkaninowy oraz komina o wysokości 30 m.; c) przenośników zasilających kocioł; d) niezbędnych towarzyszących prac budowlanych, związanych z dostosowaniem istniejącej hali do zabudowy nowego kotła wraz z adaptacją istniejących fundamentów pod nowy kocioł i instalację oczyszczania spalin.
