The main objective of the project is to develop an innovative technology and implement it for the production of large slag vats with a mass of up to 30 tonnes. The vats will be characterised by a number of technological advantages, whose implementation in KRAKODLEW’s activities will translate into its position on the domestic market and expansion into new foreign markets. The objectives of the project will be achieved through industrial research and development work on the innovative technology of producing high-quality slag vats of high-quality ductile iron and steel. As a result, materials and technology of production will be developed and finally the experimental series of vats weighing 30 tons from a new type of steel and newly developed ductile iron will be created. These vats will be intended for the metallurgy of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and the new technology will allow them to be distributed to the domestic and foreign markets. The production of steel vats of such mass will take place for the first time in the country. Their characteristic feature will be increased resistance to thermal shocks (heat fatigue), which will occur during their operation in variable temperature values. The characteristics of slag vats are not covered by any international standard, and the technology of their production is a guarded secret of few world manufacturers within the so-called. „Know-How”.     Głównym celem projektu jest opracowanie innowacyjnej technologii oraz jej wdrożenie do produkcji wielkogabarytowych kadzi żużlowych o masie dochodzącej do 30 ton. Kadzie będą charakteryzowały się szeregiem przewag technologicznych, których wdrożenie w działalności Spółki Krakodlew przełoży się na jej pozycję na rynku krajowym oraz ekspansje na nowe rynki zagraniczne. Cele projektu zostaną osiągnięte dzięki badaniom przemysłowym oraz pracom rozwojowym nad nowatorską technologią wytwarzania kadzi żużlowych o dużej masie z wysokojakościowego żeliwa sferoidalnego i staliwa. W efekcie opracowane zostaną materiały i technologia produkcji oraz finalnie wytworzona zostanie seria doświadczalna kadzi o masie 30 ton z nowego rodzaju staliwa oraz nowo opracowanego żeliwa sferoidalnego. Kadzie te przeznaczone będą dla hutnictwa metali żelaznych i nieżelaznych, a nowa technologia pozwoli na rozdystrybuowanie ich na rynek krajowy oraz zagraniczny. Produkcja kadzi ze staliwa o takie masie będzie miała miejsce po raz pierwszy w kraju. Ich cechą charakterystyczną będzie podwyższona odporność na szoki cieplne (zmęczenie cieplne), które będą występować podczas ich eksploatacji w zmiennych wartościach temperaturowych. Charakterystyka kadzi żużlowych nie jest objęta żadną normą międzynarodową, a technologia ich wytwarzania jest strzeżoną tajemnicą niewielu światowych wytwórców w ramach tzw. „Know- How”. Technologia opracowywana i dostosowywana jest do konkretnych warunków panujących w danej odlewni.
