The base for the production of the mixture will consist of sand shale and clay shale, which is a waste resulting from the extraction of hard coal (about 20-30 % of the output). In addition to the mixture, volatile fluid ash (a side product of coal combustion in power plants) will be used, with dehumidifying, feed and binding properties.The third component will be a hydraulic binder selected in the research process, whose aim is to stabilise the whole mixture. As part of the project, tests will be carried out on physical and chemical characteristics of input materials, a recipe of the mixture will be developed and technological tests will be carried out with the participation of potential end-users. This substance may reduce absorption and increase the frost resistance of the mixture and have a significant reduction in the amount of adhesive added. It is assumed that the final result of the project will be the prescription of a new mixture of aggregates, together with an opinion confirming its possible use in the construction industry in accordance with the applicable norms. Numer_referencyjny_programu_pomocowego: SA.42799(2015/X), pomoc_de_minimis: §42 rozporządzenia Ministra Infrastruktury i Rozwoju z dnia 10 lipca 2015 r. w sprawie udzielania przez Polską Agencję Rozwoju Przedsiębiorczości pomocy finansowej w ramach Programu Operacyjnego Inteligentny Rozwój 2014–2020.W ramach realizacji projektu jednostce naukowej zostanie zlecona usługa mająca na celu stworzenie innowacyjnego składu mieszanki kruszywa funkcjonującego pod nazwą Kruszywo PKEW, z przeznaczeniem do budowy górnych warstw nasypów. Skład mieszanki bazować będzie na odpadach powstających w trakcie wydobycia oraz spalania węgla kamiennego. Bazą do produkcji mieszanki będzie składająca się z łupków piaszczystych i ilastych skała płonna, będąca odpadem powstającym w trakcie wydobycia węgla kamiennego (około 20-30% urobku). Jako dodatek do mieszanki, stosowany będzie popiół fluidalny lotny (uboczny produkt spalania węgla w elektrowniach), posiadający właściwości osuszające, doziarniające i wiążące.Trzecią składową stanowić będzie wybrane w procesie badawczym spoiwo hydrauliczne, którego celem jest stabilizacja całej mieszanki. W ramach projektu przeprowadzone zostaną badania cech fizycznych i chemicznych materiałów wsadowych, opracowana zostanie recepta mieszanki oraz wykonane zostaną próby technologiczne przy współudziale potencjalnych odbiorców końcowych.W trakcie badań zostaną przeprowadzone próby na mieszance z dodatkiem hydrofobizującym. Substancja ta może zmniejszyć nasiąkliwość i zwiększyć mrozoodporność mieszanki oraz mieć wpływ na znaczne obniżenie ilości dodawanego spoiwa. Zakłada się, że finalnym rezultatem projektu będzie recepta nowej mieszanki kruszywa, wraz z opinią potwierdzająca możliwość jej zastosowania w budownictwie zgodnie z obowiązującymi normatywami.
