While serving as a paramedic for many years, he observed a multitude of ambulance calls for choking or choking while eating (swallowing), especially in young children (up to 3 years of age) and older people. Hence, the idea to develop and implement an innovative product, which will allow every person at home to give first aid to their loved ones in cases of choking. The principle of using the tube will be simple. In case of choking, attach the product to the vacuum tube, insert the tube into the throat and (adjusting the suction power with your thumb) suction the foreign body. Its unique shape will be designed so that its use is fully safe, which will be preceded by appropriate research. The size will also be standardised to fit the pipe of each vacuum cleaner, and the handle will be provided with a hole to adjust the suction power with the thumb. The applicant sees in the project the demand on the scale of the whole country, as the result of the project has a high chance of becoming a basic element of the medicine cabinets in every home – as first aid equipment for saving the lives of the loved ones and in kindergartens and nurseries. Pomysłodawcą projektu jest Rafał Gac, który pracując w ratownictwie medycznym, zaobserwował potrzebę rynku na wprowadzenie produktu służącego do usuwania ciał obcych z przełyku w przypadku zakrztuszenia (zachłyśnięcia). Pełniąc funkcję ratownika medycznego przez wiele lat, zaobserwował mnogość wezwań karetki pogotowia do zakrztuszeń bądź zachłyśnięć podczas jedzenia (połykania), szczególnie u małych dzieci (do 3 lat) oraz osób starszych. Stąd pomysł na opracowanie i wdrożenie innowacyjnego produktu, który pozwoli każdej osobie w warunkach domowych udzielić pierwszej pomocy swoim bliskim w przypadkach zakrztuszenia. Zasada korzystania z rurki będzie prosta. W przypadku zadławienia należy podłączyć produkt do rury odkurzacza, wprowadzić rurkę do gardła i (regulując kciukiem moc ssania) odessać ciało obce. Jej unikalny kształt będzie tak zaprojektowany, aby jej użycie było w pełni bezpieczne, co zostanie poprzedzone odpowiednimi badaniami. Rozmiar będzie również ustandaryzowany, aby pasował do rury każdego odkurzacza, a trzonek będzie zaopatrzony w otwór do regulacji mocy ssania za pomocą kciuka. Wnioskodawca widzi w przedmiotowym projekcie zapotrzebowanie na skalę całego kraju, gdyż rezultat projektu ma wysokie szanse stać się podstawowym elementem apteczek w każdym domu - jako sprzęt pierwszej pomocy przy ratowaniu życia osób najbliższych oraz w przedszkolach i żłobkach.
