The problem with which Plantpol and the ornamental plant industry have been facing for years is the accumulation of production in certain periods of the year, which means that the desire to increase the production volume is directly linked to the need to incur high investment costs related to the construction of further greenhouses and also to increase the costly crops of contracted maternal mates in hot climate countries. The solution to this problem may be the development of a technology consisting of the possibility of controlling, or, in fact, extending the growing season of cuttings, which will ultimately allow to prepare more finished product for the period of the highest market demand, which will improve the economic efficiency of production and the efficiency of the use of the parent. As part of the project, a number of experiments have been planned, leading to the development of technologies for storing cuttings over a much longer period than had been possible so far. Two actions are envisaged: — development of an innovative demonstrator of the experimental greenhouse, which will be equipped with a range of innovative climate solutions – development of unrooted seedling technology after planting in controlled climatic and light conditions. Thanks to developed solutions, the Applicant will be able to consciously control the rooting period depending on the current market demand. The economic effects will be to maximise the potential of the parent’s production, to reduce production costs, and to reduce the seasonality of production. (English) | |||||||||||||||

PLANTPOL - PRODUKCJA I HODOWLA ROŚLIN OZDOBNYCH W ZABORZU SPÓŁKA Z OGRANICZONĄ ODPOWIEDZIALNOŚCIĄ

W ramach projektu zaplanowano szereg eksperymentów prowadzących do opracowania technologii przechowania sadzonek w okresie znacznie dłuższym niż było to możliwe dotychczas. (Polish)
