Planen sættes i gang under projektforløbet. (Danish)

Several companies in Vesthimmerlands Municipality are currently experiencing difficulties in recruiting highly skilled labour. This is largely due to the fact that the business requires new types of jobs, as a direct consequence of today’s transformation, in relation to larger innovation and market requirements. It costs turnover and growth. Part of the changing conditions of business therefore means that highly skilled labour is much more needed than in the past to respond to developments in future years’ competence requirements. There is therefore an urgent need to activate candidates in the premises of the region. in the meantime, large university cities in Denmark are experiencing strong growth in tertiary graduates. In Aalborg alone, they experience an increase in unemployed graduates not less than 112 per cent. Of that pool, it is especially graduates with a foreign background that has difficulty in finding jobs. We are therefore in a situation where companies in Vesthimmerlands Municipality are, on the one hand, in the absence of highly skilled labour, and, on the other, there is a larger pool of unemployed, international graduates and graduates living in the big cities that lack jobs. This is a paradox or challenge that this project highlights. It is about reaching a qualifying match between the company and the nominee. There will be some prejudices that have to be broken down, companies need to mature to hire international labour, and candidates must be made ready to become a member of staff on an equal footing with Danish colleagues. In this perspective, the project will launch a number of handheld activities for businesses, which are continuously supported by experienced forces in the form of a mentoring group and the local business service throughout the project cycle. In parallel to this, the candidates will go through an intensive Danish and learning experience on the Danish labour market and Danish company culture. where there is a qualified match, a plan for ordinary employment between the company and the candidate will be prepared. The plan will be launched in the course of the project. The project lasts for more than 30 months and will involve 15 companies in Vesthimmerlands Municipality and 30 foreign graduates. The project has the stated aim that it will lead to 12 ordinary jobs in companies for highly qualified international graduates, the day on which the project ends. (English)
