    V plynárenství a hydroenergetice se používají měkkotěsnící kulové kohouty. Tyto armatury nejsou trvale těsné, protože dochází k poškození měkkotěsnícího kroužku. Z důvodu celosvětové poptávky vznikl požadavek na změnu měkkotěsnícího kroužku za kovový, který by garantoval těsnost A podle ISO 5208. Podstatou projektu je nalezení konstrukčního řešení, které by umožnilo při současné úrovni obrábění dosáhnout těsnosti A (nulový únik). a. (Czech)
