Głównym celem projektu jest opracowanie aplikacji o przyznanie statusu leku sierocego oraz jej opracowanie zgodnie z wymogami Europejskiej Agencji Leków, dla kandydata na lek, cząsteczki OATD-01, do zastosowania w formie tabletki podawanej raz dziennie. Uzyskanie statusu leku sierocego stanowi dla OncoArendi Therapeutics SA ważny kamień milowy w procesie rozwoju kandydata na lek innowacyjny. Nie tylko zapewni dostęp do wsparcia Europejskiej Agencji Leków przy opracowywaniu kosztowo i czasowo efektywnej strategii rozwoju nowej terapii, ale również zwiększy możliwość jej komercjalizacji poprzez wzrost potencjału rynkowego produktu. Aby ubiegać się o przyznanie statusu leku sierocego dla badanego produktu leczniczego, należy złożyć wniosek do Komitetu ds. Sierocych Produktów Leczniczych (Committee for the Orphan Medicinal Products, COMP), działającej w ramach Europejskiej Agencji Leków, na który składa się szereg kompleksowych opracowań i analiz. Ważną częścią wniosku jest analiza epidemiologiczna, obiektywna ocena skuteczności dostępnych dla danej jednostki chorobowej terapii oraz opis badań przeprowadzonych przez aplikującego, wskazujących na potencjał terapeutyczny rozwijanego związku. Aby zrealizować ww. cel, planowany jest zakup usług doradczych obejmujących opracowanie strategii złożenia aplikacji o przyznanie statusu leku sierocego, przeprowadzenie niezbędnych analiz oraz przygotowanie syntetycznego opracowania wyników przeprowadzonych badań i eksperymentów. Zebrane dane wskazują, że związek może znaleźć zastosowanie w terapii idiopatycznego włóknienia płuc, a także sarkoidozy, dlatego też zlecona zostanie analiza rynku pod kątem opłacalności wdrożenia dla obu terapii. Dalszy rozwój leku nastąpi w bardziej obiecującym obszarze terapeutycznym. (Polish)

The main objective of the project is to develop an application for an orphan medicine status and to develop it in accordance with the requirements of the European Medicines Agency for the candidate for the medicine, the OATD-01 molecule, to be used in the form of a daily tablet. Obtaining an orphan medicine status is an important milestone in the process of developing a candidate for an innovative medicine. It will not only ensure access to the European Medicines Agency’s support in developing a cost-effective and time-bound strategy for the development of a new therapy, but it will also increase its ability to commercialise it through an increase in the market potential of the product. In order to apply for an orphan medicine status for the investigational medicinal product, an application must be submitted to the Committee for The Committee for the Orphan Medicinal Products (COMP), which operates within the framework of the European Medicines Agency, which consists of a series of complex studies and studies. An important part of the application is the epidemiological analysis, the objective assessment of the efficacy of the treatment available to the unit and the description of the tests carried out by the applicant, indicating the therapeutic potential of the relationship developed. In order to achieve this objective, it is planned to purchase advisory services covering the development of an application for an orphan medicine application, to carry out the necessary analyses and to prepare a synthetic study of the results of the studies and experiments carried out. The collected data indicate that the link can be found in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, as well as sarcoidosis, and therefore a market analysis of the cost-effectiveness of the implementation for both therapies will be commissioned. Further development of the drug will take place in a more promising therapeutic area. (English)
