Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an incurable rare genetic disease that shortens the life and has a big influence on daily lives of affected CF patients and their families. Overall objective of the project: Ensure higher quality of care for CF patients and their family members in CF Centers in Košice and IF and improving life expectancy and quality of life for CF families. The challenge tackled by project is improve the conditions for long lasting regular treatment and care of CF, as a chronic disease, through purchase of special medical equipment and education in existing CF Centres. This can change the opportunities for CF children and adults – can give them, as the disabled and disadvantaged group, the equal opportunities as their healthy friends have. We will intensify and deepen the cooperation between regions of SK and UA. By modernizing of CF Centers we will achieve faster diagnostics, improved treatment, prolonging life of patients. The CF Centers help educate doctors, nurses, medical teams how to regcognize the symptoms of CF and how care is needed to achieve and maintain the best possible health for patients. The transfer of know how (trainings, workshop, CF conference) will create permanent knowledge for educated persons. The expected results are 2 modernised CF Centers with well-educated CF teams offering high quality of care and therapy for CF people in safe environment, protecting them from avoidable harm and ensuring CF families to have a positive experience of care, what will be innovating for CF families who will benefits from it. The innovative and added value is the complexicity of modernisation by equipment and team work in new conditions in hospitals where are CF Centers. For CF patient there is modern tool-application as a smartphone couch, which help them to find motivation to stick to daily therapy. This improve quality of CF care conditions. Thanks to early and correct diagnosis and treatment we could save more CF patients before premature death. (English)
