The project ‘Bio-economy in the Non-Food sector’ seeks to develop the regional cross-border bio-based economy and the institutions and SME companies in this sector. The objectives are: - Development of a green production structure in the EDR by Bio-based building blocks for materials and chemicals. - Development of bio-based products for non-food markets. - Network realisation between colleges, universities and centers of competence in the field of bio economy The project is structured in four substantively related work packages’New materials and innovative products’, ‘New green routes’, ‘Biobased products for residential' and 'Knowledge Transfer Projects’. For each work package, there are several sub-projects developed on various subjects, in which companies and knowledge institutions jointly develop new bio-based products and applications. In addition to these defined subprojects, the project includes an open section focusing on entrepreneurs (SMEs) with new innovative ideas. SMEs may be eligible for aid for feasibility studies and projects focusing on chain development and knowledge transfer. Target groups of the project are all companies in the value chain; of the production of crops, the delivery of materials, the processing of these materials into products or intermediate products and the use of new, innovative products using a variety of processes. Through knowledge transfer projects the different target groups, professionals from SMEs and students will be provided with information and training. This will ensure that the information from the projects is structurally used. This project involves the promotion of co-production and sustainable cross-border cooperation along the entire production chain by connecting , deepening and enriching . (English)
