The difference in policies in the fields of culture and natural heritage on each side of the border of Bulgaria and Romania are further increasing the difficulty of promoting cross-border cooperation and joint development. These barriers establish a negative mindset amongst the local communities. Furthermore, there is a lack of information of the potential of cultural and natural heritage of the regions. Another problem is the lack of stable contacts between cultural “actors”, in a region which is so “close” not only in distance, but also in culture, traditions and cultural heritage<br>The objective of present proposal is to improve the sustainable use of natural heritage and resources and cultural heritage in cross-border region – Districts Vratsa and Ruse, Bulgaria and District Olt, Romania, and to increase the number of tourist’s overnights. The budget of the action is: 250 198.80 Euro. Main activities: Information campaign for project promotion and raising public awareness; Educational programs and trainings „Train the trainer“; Summer workshops for students and youth; Festival for ancient cultures and traditional crafts; Assembly “Crafts – yesterday, today and tomorrow”; International conferencesResults of the action: Improved cross-border cultural cooperation; Increased awareness of the cultural heritage; Promoted cultural events and initiatives of the CBC regions; Increase of number of visits to sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction.
