WBDurapaint aims to pool the skills and equipment of various research centres to develop and characterise new water-based biosourced paint systems. The objective of the WBDurapaint project is to develop new paint systems that are unique on the market today, with high performance (corrosion, UV and fire resistance) and low environmental impact: free of toxic compounds (without isocyanates) and with very low VOC emissions. These paints will have the properties and performances required to protect metal, wood, floors for indoor and outdoor applications in the building and transport sector, which are key industries in the INTERREG area. To meet the various challenges, a multidisciplinary cross-border platform involving five internationally-recognised research centres is being created to pool all the skills necessary for the successful implementation of this project. The clear ambition here is to develop innovative and economically viable paint solutions to cover a wide range of applications that can be developed in the medium term within companies in the INTERREG area.
