TERTS is committed to reducing CO₂ emissions in the tertiary sector. It is a sector that was left out for a long time because of its small scale and great diversity. The specific target group within this project are the hotel and catering industry, the retail trade and small entrepreneurs such as hairdressers, bakers and butchers. From a participatory collaboration with local authorities or other actors, they are tempted to make energy transition an essential part of their business operations. The range to be developed consists of testing and demonstrating innovative techniques and measures, carrying out a customization process and setting up a public utility function by municipalities and/or other actors. Six 'all-in' demonstration projects are planned. For example, the famous Ghent arts center and café-bistro Vooruit will invest in interior green walls and an outside green wall, and install an intelligent extractor hood with heat recovery and an automatic wash for reusable cups. In Middelburg, bowling center De Kruitmolen will integrate a heat pump and air treatment unit with heat and moisture recovery, integrated PV and LED lighting in combination with smart storage. In addition - under the supervision of WVI - around 25 companies can sign up to implement innovations in their own company via the optimised guidance process. (English)
