    The Technical University of Lübeck (Department of Applied Natural Sciences), the University of Lübeck (MINT section) and the University of Southern Denmark (Mads Clausen Institute) in Sönderborg have set themselves the goal of developing and establishing a joint German-Danish master's course in the field of medical technology in the German-Danish Interreg programme region as part of the planned Interreg project "MikroMedTech". The planned international study course "Medical Microtechnology" will further develop the current strengths and core competencies in the German-Danish programme region in the fields of health and life sciences and strengthen the cooperation between science, industry and clinics in the field of health technologies in the programme region. The programme strengthens internationalisation and has an impact beyond the German-Danish region. The master's course explicitly addresses the field of miniaturisation, one of the five fields of innovation in biomedical technology. On the one hand, this includes the field of minimally invasive surgery (endoscopes, surgical techniques) and on the other hand, implants for drug application. The integration of sensors and actuators leads to new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. Within the framework of this project, a new study course with a new structure and content will be developed and operation of the same will be started. By using existing study modules of all participating universities, which will be newly combined with each other, a new cross-border study offer will be created in the programme region. This combinatorial approach makes it possible to develop and accredit the study programme, to admit first students and to evaluate the first results of the study programme within a project period of only three years. The composition of the contents, their design and the first applications will take place with the involvement of regional medical technology companies and regional hospitals. This has the advantage that both customer groups can actively contribute their requirements for graduates to the development of the German-Danish study offer. In addition a multiplicity of network partners from the entire program region declared their readiness for support by LoIs. (English)
