Employers, higher education institutions and students usually identify the same reasons for developing practical skills, which are most refined and improved during the practical training/practice of students: • lack of a unified system of student placements • insufficient training of trainees, • lack of cooperation between higher education and business, • lack of financial or other mechanisms to encourage companies to accept students for internships. In order to solve this problem, the LPK, together with the 5 largest universities in Lithuania, initiates a joint project aimed at improving the quality of higher education in Lithuania, ensuring high-quality and effective preparation of students for successful integration into the labour market. The successful implementation of the project will lead to the following results: (1) The methodology for organising smart practices will be improved on the basis of the partners’ shared experience and adapted to the higher education institutions involved in the project; (2) The model of training and collaboration between trainees (from universities and from internships) for participating higher education institutions will be improved and adapted for both intelligent and traditional traineeships as one of the mechanisms to ensure the quality of student traineeships; (3) A package of recommendations on cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises/organisations will be drawn up; (4) At least 480 students from partner higher education institutions, from different professional backgrounds and stages of study, will carry out smart traineeships. Darbdaviai, aukštosios mokyklos ir studentai dažniausiai įvardija tas pačias priežastis, trukdančias ugdyti praktinius įgūdžius, kurie labiausiai gryninami ir tobulinami studentų praktinio mokymo (praktikos) metu: • vieningos studentų praktikos sistemos nebuvimas, • nepakankamas praktikos vadovų paruošimas, • nepakankamas aukštųjų mokyklų ir verslo atstovų bendradarbiavimas, • finansinio ar kitokio pobūdžio mechanizmų, skatinančių įmonių suinteresuotumą priimti studentus praktikai, nebuvimas. Siekiant spręsti šią problemą LPK kartu su 5 didžiausiais Lietuvos universitetais inicijuoja bendrą projektą, kurio tikslas – gerinti Lietuvos aukštojo mokslo kokybę, užtikrinant kokybišką ir efektyvų studentų paruošimą sėkmingai integruotis į darbo rinką. Sėkmingai įgyvendinus projektą bus pasiekti šie rezultatai: (1) bendros partnerių patirties pagrindu bus patobulinta sumaniųjų praktikų organizavimo metodologija ir adaptuota projekte dalyvaujančioms aukštosioms mokykloms; (2) bus patobulintas ir adaptuotas projekte dalyvaujančioms aukštosioms mokykloms praktikos vadovų (iš universitetų ir iš praktikos institucijų pusės) parengimo ir bendradarbiavimo praktikos metu modelis, pritaikomas tiek sumaniosioms, tiek tradicinėms praktikoms, kaip vienas iš studentų profesinės praktikos kokybės užtikrinimo mechanizmų; (3) bus sudarytas rekomendacijų paketas dėl aukštųjų mokyklų ir įmonių/organizacijų bendradarbiavimo; (4) sumaniąją praktiką atliks ne mažiau kaip 480 aukštųjų mokyklų partnerių skirtingų specialybių ir studijų pakopų studentų.
