Property / summary

In Lithuania, practically all geotechnical structures that need to be strengthened (reinforced) by geogrids are strengthened by rigid geogrids. Rigid geonets have good strength properties when geotechnical structures allow large displacements. In the case of small displacements, rigid geonets do not retain a reinforcing function until the deformation reaches 2 % or more. For this reason, an alternative to rigid geonets is chosen, which has good reinforcing properties even with small deformations. A technical feasibility study shall be carried out with an overview of the characteristics of rigid and flexible geogrids with minor deformations, i.e. up to 2 %. (English)

(Lithuanian)
