TRASFLUV — SOLID RIVER TRANSPORT AND MORPHODYNAMIC BALANCE OF COASTLINES
Property / summary

ONE OF THE MOST CHALLENGING CHALLENGES AT GLOBAL LEVEL IS TO ENSURE THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COASTLINE, ESPECIALLY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CLIMATE CHANGE TAKING PLACE. TO THIS END, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO BE ABLE TO PREDICT THE EVOLUTION OF A COASTLINE, BOTH AS A CONSEQUENCE OF NATURAL PHENOMENA AND FOR THE POSSIBLE EFFECT OF HUMAN ACTIONS. IT CAN BE DONE BY MEANS OF A BALANCE BETWEEN THE SEDIMENTS THAT ARE TRANSPORTED TO THE SEA BY THE WATERWAYS AND THOSE THAT ARE ERODED BY THE ACTION OF CURRENTS AND TIDES. TRASFLUV WILL PROPOSE USEFUL MODELS FOR THE CORRECT ESTIMATION OF THE INPUT OF SEDIMENTS FROM WATERCOURSES, AS WELL AS PREDICTIVE TOOLS FOR EVALUATING THE EFFECTS OF INTERVENTIONS ON THEM AND ON COASTLINES. DIFFERENT TOOLS WILL BE USED IN THE PROJECT: THE PHYSICAL MODELLING WILL BE USED TO INVESTIGATE THE BASIC PHENOMENA, THE ANALYSIS OF THE REAL BEHAVIOR OF STRETCHES OF WATER AND COAST, ANALYSED THROUGH THE ACQUISITION AND PROCESSING OF IMAGES (English)

UNA DELLE PIù IMPEGNATIVE SFIDE A LIVELLO GLOBALE, Ê QUELLA DI GARANTIRE UNO SVILUPPO SOSTENIBILE DELLA FASCIA COSTIERA, SOPRATTUTTO NEL CONTESTO DEI CAMBIAMENTI CLIMATICI IN ATTO. A TAL FINE Ê FONDAMENTALE POTER PREVEDERE L'EVOLUZIONE DI UN LITORALE, SIA COME CONSEGUENZA DI FENOMENI NATURALI SIA PER IL POSSIBILE EFFETTO DI AZIONI ANTROPICHE. CIò PUò ESSERE FATTO MEDIANTE UN BILANCIO FRA I SEDIMENTI CHE VENGONO TRASPORTATI A MARE DAI CORSI D'ACQUA E QUELLI CHE VENGONO EROSI DALL'AZIONE DELLE CORRENTI E DELLE MAREE. TRASFLUV PROPORRà MODELLI UTILI ALLA CORRETTA STIMA DELL'APPORTO DI SEDIMENTI PROVENIENTI DAI CORSI D'ACQUA, NONCHé STRUMENTI PREDITTIVI ATTI ALLA VALUTAZIONE DEGLI EFFETTI DI INTERVENTI SUI MEDESIMI E SUI LITORALI. NEL PROGETTO SARANNO UTILIZZATI DIFFERENTI STRUMENTI: LA MODELLISTICA FISICA SERVIRà A INVESTIGARE I FENOMENI DI BASE, L'ANALISI DEL COMPORTAMENTO REALE DI TRATTI DI CORSO D'ACQUA E DI COSTA, ANALIZZATI MEDIANTE L'ACQUISIZIONE E L'ELABORAZIONE DI IMMAGINI (Italian)

UNO DE LOS RETOS MÁS DIFÍCILES A NIVEL MUNDIAL ES GARANTIZAR EL DESARROLLO SOSTENIBLE DE LA COSTA, ESPECIALMENTE EN EL CONTEXTO DEL CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO QUE SE ESTÁ PRODUCIENDO. PARA ELLO, ES ESENCIAL PODER PREDECIR LA EVOLUCIÓN DE UNA COSTA, TANTO COMO CONSECUENCIA DE FENÓMENOS NATURALES COMO PARA EL POSIBLE EFECTO DE LAS ACCIONES HUMANAS. SE PUEDE HACER POR MEDIO DE UN EQUILIBRIO ENTRE LOS SEDIMENTOS QUE SE TRANSPORTAN AL MAR POR LAS VÍAS NAVEGABLES Y LOS QUE SE EROSIONAN POR LA ACCIÓN DE LAS CORRIENTES Y MAREAS. TRASFLUV PROPONDRÁ MODELOS ÚTILES PARA LA CORRECTA ESTIMACIÓN DE LA ENTRADA DE SEDIMENTOS DE LOS CURSOS DE AGUA, ASÍ COMO HERRAMIENTAS PREDICTIVAS PARA EVALUAR LOS EFECTOS DE LAS INTERVENCIONES EN ELLOS Y EN LAS COSTAS. EN EL PROYECTO SE UTILIZARÁN DIFERENTES HERRAMIENTAS: EL MODELADO FÍSICO SE UTILIZARÁ PARA INVESTIGAR LOS FENÓMENOS BÁSICOS, EL ANÁLISIS DEL COMPORTAMIENTO REAL DE TRAMOS DE AGUA Y COSTA, ANALIZADOS A TRAVÉS DE LA ADQUISICIÓN Y PROCESAMIENTO DE IMÁGENES (Spanish)
