Bij Geelen Beton werken ongeveer 260 medewerkers, waarvan er zo'n 190 in de beide fabrieken. Bijna alle werkzaamheden in de fabriek zijn fysiek belastende werkzaamheden. Door het opschuiven van de pensioensgerechtigde leeftijd wordt het moeilijker om deze eindstreep te halen. Mensen vallen steeds vaker uit met klachten aan het bewegingsapparaat. Uit de PMO's blijkt dat deze groep medewerkers matig vitaal is. Door de werkplekken beter in te richten en de medewerkers betere werktechnieken te leren bouwt Geelen Beton aan vitale medewerkers en een veilige en gezonde werkomgeving. Een bedrijfsfysiotherapeut en ergonoom worden ingezet om een bedrijfspecifieke ergonomiescan uit te voeren, medewerkers te trainen in verantwoorde werktechnieken en medewerkers op vitalitait te coachen. hun leidinggevende worden getraind in de borging en het aangaan van de dialoog over deze thema's met de medewerkers.
