The aim of the project is to support individuals with complex problems to become included on the labour market, through collaboration between the social economy and the public sector, and to create sustainable structures for long-term cooperation. Within the social economy, there are many organizations who work with the inclusion of people who are far from the labor market. There are NGO:s that arrange language cafes, receive interns and create meeting places, as well as social enterprises acting as tutors and eventually employ people on training. At the same time, the roles between the public sector and the social economy often are unclear and communication does not always work out. In this project we want to improve collaboration between the social economy and the public sector in the work to support people who are far from the labor market. This will be done through three different pilot projects based on three different methods that work with three different target groups which today find it difficult to establish themselves in the labor market. The methods will be tested, evaluated and if they are successful, implemented in regular activity and distributed to other stakeholders. Kalmar dog daycare is a social enterprise that will work with young people, aged 16-24, who for various reasons have not finished high school. It is a target group that often has complex psychological and social problems and unless the right efforts are made, risk never entering the labor market or finding their way back to studies. Kalmar dog daycare core values are that each individual person should respond and be treated with respect, care and participation. The individuals will participate in the daily activities with the dogs or for the individual appropriate employment. Each person contributes with their individual ability at work. Employment at the Dog Day is a quiet and safe place to grow, in cooperation and social interaction with both dog and human. To sit and cuddle and pat a dog has a positive impact on people with mental illness. The main purpose of the project is to motivate the young people to continue their studies, since upper secondary education is important for access to the labor market today. Kalmar dog daycare is planning to help 64 young people back to study or work during the project. The second pilot project will be run by the Funktionsrätt Kalmar County, that wants to provide opportunities for its members to work as professional lecturers on function variations and accessibility. People with disabilities that affect their ability to work today find it much more difficult to find work than normal functioning. As the members of Funktionsrätt Kalmar County get coaching in holding lectures the project contributes to people with functional variations getting work as lecturers or enter the labor market. Getting the opportunity to carry out real assignments and gaining income strengthens the individuals self-esteem. In addition, the organizations that employ the lecturers receive competence on disabilities and accessibility and become better at adapting their workplaces to employees with functional variations. The accessibility work in society is progressing slowly and the project can help increase the pace. Funktionsrätt Kalmar County aims to support 20 people to become lecturers during the project. Landsmuseum Himmelsberga will try to work with new arrivals who, for various reasons, find it difficult to move on in studies or in work. Through practical activities they will be introduced to the green sectors in Sweden. At lands museum, people who are far from the labor market could get a first contact with the green sectors, mainly cultivation and gardening. The need for labour in agricultural business is large in the region. Many new arrivals find it difficult to develop the language through traditional classroom teaching. At lands museum, participants who are far from the labor market can have the opportunity to strengthen their self-confidence, work practically and at the same time develop the language while they learn more about the green sectors and may be inspired to continue the entered path. 32 people are planned to participate in the project. During the project, the partner organizations will receive support to be able to work better with the target group in the future through targeted training initiatives and workshops for experience exchanges. The goal is to find solutions for the efforts to continue even after the project. The long-term goal of the project is also that the methods developed in the three pilot projects and the experiences that are made about the interaction between the social economy actors and public organizations should be utilized and disseminated to others for the sectors to be better at collaborating to include people in the labor market.
