Veilger en gezonder metselen is er gericht om incidenten zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen. Door de eventuele geïdentificeerde en aanwezige oorzaken weg te nemen of te reduceren. Dit vereist een klimaat en een cultuur binnen de organisatie waarbij een individuele medewerker zelf een factor van risico kan zijn door zijn gedrag of handelingen. Naast de maatregelen die al in technische zijn genomen, zullen ook in organisatorische en personele zin zal ook een situatie worden gecreëerd waarbinnen de medewerkers bewuster zullen moeten omgaan met veiligheid.
