Patronage care for elderly and disabled people | |||||||||||||||
Property / summary | |||||||||||||||
The need for social assistance in the municipality of Omurtag is determined by several main factors: high share of unemployed, low income, increased share of elderly and lonely people living in villages, presence of highly vulnerable groups. As a priority, social policy is aimed at improving the quality of life of persons belonging to risk groups. These are people with significant health and social problems (socially weak, disabled, etc.).The main problems of people over 65, who are in partial or total inability to self-service at home, most often due to health problems and usually lonely, is the inability to organise their own lifestyles and their daily activities, as well as the lack of social contacts. The provision at municipal level of hourly services for people with disabilities and the elderly who have difficulties in their care and the provision of integrated services, facilitating access to health services and others, according to the needs of people with disabilities, will help to improve the quality of life and access to social inclusion services, in response to complex needs, for people with disabilities and people over 65 years of age, unable to self-service in order to overcome the consequences of social exclusion and poverty.
