Since 2012 the network of 28 information centres for the promotion of EU cohesion policy in the Republic of Bulgaria — Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Sliven Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, Yambol and Central Information and Coordination Office (CICO) operate. The 27 regional information centres (OICs) operate on a one-stop-shop basis and actively work with the managing authorities and assist them in carrying out information campaigns on the territory of the districts. The network actively cooperated with local administrations, labour offices and regional inspectorates of education, universities and secondary education schools in order to raise citizens’ awareness of the opportunities offered through the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).In the period 2007-2013, the network, including DIC Vratsa, provided information on funding opportunities under the programmes co-financed by the EU Structural and Cohesion Funds (CF). Between 2015 and 2023, the network and RIC Vratsa will provide information and promote the ESIF. The grant provided for the functioning of the Vratsa RIC contributes to the implementation of the general objectives of the NRV for the programming period 2014-2020, namely: üpromise the role of the EU and inform about the funding opportunities under the programmes; ensure maximum transparency in the implementation and management of the programmes; build and maintain high public trust in the ESIF implementation processes.
