ON THE OTHER HAND, WE MUST CAREFULLY CONSIDER HOW THE "ESSENTIAL ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES" (IN PARTICULAR BIOTECHNOLOGY, NANOTECHNOLOGY, ROBOTICS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) LEAD TO A NO RETURN PATH TOWARDS AN ECONOMIC MODEL DEEPLY AFFECTED BY COMPLEX AUTOMATION AND DIGITIZATION PROCESSES._x000D_ THIS "INTELLIGENT INDUSTRY", THAT EVOLVES WITH DIFFERENT INTENSITY ACCORDING TO SECTORS, OFFERS A FAVORABLE FRAMEWORK TO REFLECT ON ITS IMPACT ON EACH AND EVERY ASPECT OF THE LABOR RELATIONSHIP: FROM BIRTH, THROUGH THE DYNAMICS OF ITS DEVELOPMENT, UNTIL REACHING THE MOMENT OF ITS EXTINCTION._x000D_ IT IS NOT A QUESTION OF WEIGHING THE MOST SALIENT FACTORS GIVEN, ON THE ONE HAND, BY THE DESTRUCTION OF MANY TRADITIONAL JOBS AND THEIR POSSIBLE COMPENSATION WITH INCREASES IN PRODUCTIVITY OR THE APPEARANCE OF OTHER SOURCES OF EMPLOYMENT CONTEMPLATING POSSIBLE ASSISTANCE MEASURES, SUCH AS A UNIVERSAL GUARANTEED INCOME FOR THOSE CONDEMNED BY THE LACK OF CAPACITY TO TRANSITION; OR, ON THE OTHER, BY THE TRANSVERSAL INCIDENCE OF THE DATA CAPABLE OF TURNING WORKERS INTO ¿GLASS PERSONS¿, FROM THE TIME OF BEING SELECTED, TO, ABOVE ALL, THE UNDOUBTED INCREASE IN THE POWER OF BUSINESS CONTROL BOTH DURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF WORK ASSIGNMENTS AND IN THEIR PRIVATE LIFE, WITH THE NECESSARY COUNTERBALANCE IN THE ALREADY KNOWN RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION TO WHICH REGULATION 2016/679/EU ADDS SOME OTHERS (SUCH AS THE RIGHTS TO DISCONNECTION OR OBLIVION), AS WELL AS IN SPECIFIC LAWS AND CONVENTIONS ENABLING PRESERVATION OF THE MOST PRECIOUS PERSONAL ASSETS AND VALUES._x000D_ BEYOND THE VISIBLE TIP OF THE ICEBERG LIES A COMPLEX BUNDLE OF ELEMENTS ON WHICH TO HALT ATTENTION, SUCH AS THE EMERGENCE OF VARIOUS "TYPES" OF WORKERS AS A CONSEQUENCE OF PHENOMENA SUCH AS COLLABORATIVE ECONOMICS; THE ADAPTATIONS THAT LABOR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS WILL HAVE TO UNDERGO AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE CHALLENGES POSED BY CYBERSECURITY, INTELLECTUAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY, THE IRRUPTION OF SOCIAL NETWORKS IN THE WORLD OF LABOR OR THE NEED TO INCORPORATE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY INTO THE PRODUCTION AND LABOR MODEL; THE NEW AND DIFFERENT WAYS OF WORKING, WITH FUNCTION AS A STRATIFYING KEY AND THE APPEARANCE OF NEW PROFESSIONAL RISKS; THE EXERCISE OF DISCIPLINARY POWERS OR THE ACCOMMODATION OF BUSINESS NEEDS WHEN UNDERGOING DISMISSAL PROCEDURES._x000D_ ALL OF THIS WITH UNDOUBTED REPERCUSSION IN WORKERS ORGANIZATION FOR THE DEFENSE OF THEIR COMMON INTERESTS AND THEIR ABILITY TO CLAIM THROUGH NEGOTIATION AND CONFLICT, IN THE RESOLUTION OF CONTROVERSIES OR -AND TRANSCENDENT- IN THE EMERGENCE OF NOT COVERED SITUATIONS OF NEED WHICH WILL BE DEALT WITH BY MEANS OF PROTECTION OR WELFARE MEASURES, THAT COULD DERIVE FROM A STRICTLY PUBLIC INSURANCE, OR, EVEN, FROM PUBLIC-PRIVATE COOPERATION FORMULAS THAT HAVE BARELY BEEN EXPLORED.
