The general objective of the project aims to increase the degree of digitalisation of the education process, through the introduction of boards, interactive tablets and other ICT equipment, in schools in Sânmartin commune, Bihor county for 813 students and 44 teachers. The goal of the project itself is to create the necessary context for rural pupils’ access to e-learning (online learning), education representing an investment in the future, under no circumstances a cost. In the context of the pandemic, the closure of schools has generated a social and economic impact that is difficult to measure, but at the same time an awareness of the needs for digitalisation, increasingly pressing. The isolation and effects of the pandemic have shown us the discrepancies between different residential environments, different digital experiences of schools and teachers, unequal economic possibilities of families or individual abilities. As distance learning, digital competences, individual study, projects and the use of ICT resources must be constant targets and habits, complementary to the lessons and courses in the classroom or amphitheater, becoming real life skills. To speak about digitalisation, the school must have the necessary endowment, teachers trained and open to less conventional, creative, specialist and pedagogue methods, to the same extent. The system also needs appropriate national platforms, access to virtual libraries and open educational resources, ensuring a fair route for all students and students, beyond individual possibilities, residential environments, possible economic inequalities. These are essential European principles, as well as conditions of a modern, inclusive and democratic society.Romania is deeply affected by economic and social inequality, and digitalisation, a necessary process and an opportunity for Romania, risks seriously affecting the future of the young generation if it is not inclusive, accessible to all.
