The flooding of May 2008 in the Cannes district led to an urgent need to take better account of the need to provide for drainage management in the most exposed neighbourhoods. The Cannes-Salines district now has to cope with these major hydrological and hydraulic risks that are strongly marked. As part of the Urban Renovation Programme, Operation 08.08 on the development of Moro Giafferi Street aims to integrate flood risk consideration, particularly in the framework of the Flood Prevention Action Programme (PAPI). Moro Giafferi Street is located perpendicularly to the south of Peretti and Primevères streets. At the level of this axis, a structuring, cross-sectional and major route is required at the district level. The objective of the improvement work in this sector is to reclassify existing roads and networks, roads and pedestrians in order to improve the living environment of its inhabitants. These developments concern the treatment of an area of approximately 6 400 m². The hydraulic works of stormwater systems on Moro Giafferi Street will consist of the installation of a collector. The installation of a secondary collection structure will allow drains to the Canal des Cannes for up to 25 years. Approximately 460 inhabitants will be involved in the implementation of a local flood risk management strategy in (English)
