La VAE permet de faire reconnaître par un diplôme, les compétences ou connaissances acquises tout au long de sa vie. Elle peut être à l'initiative du salarié. Cette mesure permet à toute personne, quels que soient son âge, son niveau d'études ou son statut, de faire valider ses acquis en vue d'obtenir une certification professionnelle. Trois ans d'expérience en rapport avec le contenu de la certification sont nécessaires. Le Bilan de compétences permet de prendre la mesure de l'ensemble des étapes professionnelles et extra professionnelles du salarié, de tenir compte de ses compétences, aspirations, goûts et contraintes. Il permet d'analyser et d'évaluer ses compétences professionnelles et personnelles, ainsi que ses aptitudes et ses motivations. Il permet d'aboutir à la définition d'un projet professionnel cohérent, réaliste et adapté au marché de l'emploi ou à un projet de formation continue. (French)
