The project aims to formulate a safe and easy-to-apply biopesticide in agriculture. We will use as an active ingredient the insecticide fraction produced by an entomopathogen used in biological control. Biodegradable nanoparticles will be produced from gelatine obtained by enzymatic reaction of fish remains and polylactic acid obtained by fermentation of lactose from whey, both products of low value and abundant in the Azores.
