    Desde su puesta en funcionamiento en el año 2013, el superordenador TeideHPC (con aproximadamente_x000D_ 18.000 cores CPU y 32TB de RAM) está prestando servicio para cubrir las necesidades de cómputo propias de_x000D_ ITER y de otras entidades, no solo en el entorno insular o canario, sino también a nivel nacional e incluso_x000D_ internacional._x000D_ Dada su capacidad, esta infraestructura sigue siendo útil para la comunidad científica a pesar de su antigüedad._x000D_ No obstante, las nuevas tendencias en el campo de la computación paralela en la búsqueda de algoritmos e_x000D_ implementaciones más eficientes tanto en términos de tiempo como en consumo energético se encaminan hacia_x000D_ el uso de dispositivos aceleradores del cómputo. De entre estos aceleradores, destacan las Unidades de_x000D_ Procesamiento Gráfico (Graphic Processing Unit GPU) por su capacidad para ser utilizadas en diferentes_x000D_ aplicaciones de manera exitosa._x000D_ Concretamente, varias líneas de trabajo de ITER como son las energías renovables, genómica y volcanología_x000D_ pueden beneficiarse de las ventajas de este tipo de dispositivos de cómputo a la hora de implementar y utilizar_x000D_ herramientas de simulación, CFD, simulaciones meteorológicas, big-data, machine-learning y deep-learning,_x000D_ entre otras._x000D_ Además existe un interés manifiesto por múltiples entidades y equipos de investigación, no solo en el entorno_x000D_ cercano, que consideran que sus líneas de trabajo se pueden beneficiar de manera significativa con el uso de_x000D_ GPU, sin embargo no tienen acceso a est (Spanish)

    Since its commissioning in 2013, the TeideHPC supercomputer (with approximately 18,000 CPU cores and 32TB of RAM) is_x000D_ providing service to meet the computing needs of ITER and other entities, not only in the Canary Islands, but also at a national_x000D_ and even international level._x000D_ Given its capacity, this infrastructure is still useful for the scientific community despite its age. However, new trends in the field_x000D_ of parallel computing in the search for more efficient algorithms and implementations both in terms of time and energy_x000D_ consumption are directed towards the use of computing acceleration devices. Among these accelerators, the Graphic_x000D_ Processing Units (GPU) stand out for their ability to be used in different applications in a successful manner._x000D_ Specifically, several lines of ITER work such as renewable energy, genomics and volcanology can benefit from the advantages_x000D_ of this type of computing devices when implementing and using simulation tools, CFD, weather simulations, big-data, machine_x000D_ -learning and deep-learning, among others._x000D_ There is also a clear interest in multiple entities and research teams, not only in the immediate environment, which consider_x000D_ that their lines of work can benefit significantly from the use of GPUs, however they do not have access to these resources.
