(Spanish)

The project combines industrial research and experimental development. The aim is to check whether the continuous and uniform generation and diffusion of 2-Tridecanone volatile, from the development of an electrical evaporation system, allows protecting plants (tomate, broccoli and Arabidopsis) from pathogenic bacteria in greenhouse._x000D__x000D_ The general objective is to analyse growth and resistance to pathogens, subjecting these plants to the effect of this bioactive compound. This will be the technological challenge of the project, because the protection of 2-Tridecanone from spraying is transient, with time the symptoms of the disease increase. It is impossible to predict when the pathogen will be invaded._x000D_ _x000D_ The complexity is associated with the chemical characteristics of microbial volatiles and how they exert their effect on plants, as they evaporate and diffuse rapidly, are unstable, highly reactive and have a relatively short half-life. In addition, plant effects require prolonged exposure of the compound, are dependent on the concentration and development phase of the plant, even have a certain specificity._x000D_ _x000D_ These limitations are expected to be solved by the continuous and controlled application of the compound in an evaporated and diffused formulation using an electrical evaporation system._x000D_ _x000D_ The specific technical objectives are the derivatives of the main:_x000D_ _x000D_ 1. Determine the levels of 2-Tridecanone present in greenhouses and used in this experiment, which will undergo different treatments._x000D_ 2. Compare the degree of disease development in plants after being infected by phytopathogenic bacteria in a greenhouse with the evaporation system with 2-Tridecanone and without 2-Tridecanone._x000D_ 3. Compare the growth of healthy plants of the varieties mentioned in greenhouse with the evaporation system with 2-Tridecanona and without 2-Tridecanona. (English)
