The company also markets other products for that market. Jalsosa has its productive facilities in the town of Pinos Puente, in the province of Granada. In these facilities, it mainly opens, blends, carding, stripping and thermofusion bound the fabrics, as well as the impregnation, cutting and packaging of the final products._x000D_ In this project, Jalsosa aims to develop a new dry biocidal soap sponge, for single use and main use in hospitals, providing complete disinfection of patients and healthcare personnel. Apart from its usual functionality (cleaning and hygiene), it is added the biocidal functionality, able to combat the presence of bacteria and viruses in the skin, as is the case with the coronavirus SAR-CoV-2, so recently named. It therefore addresses the need to reduce cross-contamination by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 between patients and healthcare workers and the transmission of other nosocomial diseases. Although its applications are very broad, the new product to be developed is considered a medical device specially designed to facilitate and maximise the hygiene of patients admitted to the ICU, in which it is considered essential to prevent or control the transmission of viral or bacterial diseases. The main difficulty this project presents is to achieve a sponge manufacturing process that allows achieving the biocidal function with the proposed effectiveness and a high level of regularity throughout its surface. This requires a very precise dosage of the biocidal product to be applied, both in quantity and distribution on the textile backing. Compatibility with the textile support and the gel used will also be important factors. (English)

(Spanish)
