It should be noted that, compared to superhydrophobic surfaces, the omniphobic character opens up wide possibilities for the easy cleaning of glass and ceramic surfaces since the extension of repellence to any dirty fluid means that it is not absolutely necessary to resort to a cleaning stage in which water is used to drag dirt. By way of example, soiling fluids can be ejected directly from the surface if they are in very small quantities (e.g. fingerprint) or when the surface in question is inclined or removed with a cloth taking advantage of low adhesion in the case of surfaces with a fully horizontal orientation._x000D_ _x000D_ Today, there are clear opportunities for glass and ceramics with the aforementioned functionalities. However, this requires a technological leap in terms of functionality — especially as regards anti-footprint — and durability over the solutions proposed so far. (English)
