Los sistemas de implante para Artroplastias Totales de Cadera (ATC) (para la sustitución total de la articulación de la cadera) constan de un Componente Femoral y de un Componente Acetabular. Estos componentes son elegidos de forma independiente y a discreción del cirujano en función de múltiples variables. Por ello, en la mayoría de las ocasiones, el cirujano se ve obligado a utilizar componentes de distintas marcas para encontrar la solución protésica combinada que mejor se adecúe al caso particular que trata, intentando así “personalizar” en lo posible el sistema protésico a implantar._x000D_ Este sistema convencional de selección independiente del componente femoral y del acetabular entraña un grave riesgo de seguridad y efectividad de la implantación, poniendo en riesgo la salud y recuperación del paciente, ya que obliga al cirujano a seleccionar una combinación de componentes entre una gran heterogeneidad de implantes, cuya compatibilidad y efectividad de combinación puede no ser adecuada, ni estar comprobada ni asegurada clínicamente._x000D_ Por ello, para reducir los riesgos inherentes y efectos adversos de una inadecuada selección protésica, Surgival pretende desarrollar un Sistema de Implantes para Artroplástias Totales de Cadera muy versátil que, para el cirujano de cadera, se convierta en una solución integral de aplicación universal.
