THE GROUP ACCUMULATES EXTENSIVE RESEARCH EXPERIENCE ON THE DEGRADATION OF CONTAMINANTS BY FUNGI (THROUGH PART OF SEVERAL RESEARCH PROJECTS ON THIS SUBJECT INCLUDING THE CURRENTLY CURRENT DEGRAPHARMAC). IN THE SECOND BLOCK (CONSIDERED THE HEART OF THE PROJECT) THERE WILL BE CONTINUOUS PURIFICATION PROCESSES OF REAL EFFLUENTS WITH FUNGI (THE BEST CHARACTERISED ORGANISMS) AND THEIR IMPLEMENTATION WILL ALSO BE EXPLORED WITH ALGAE. FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF THE FUNGAL-BASED PROCESS AND FOR ITS APPLICATION TO THE TREATMENT OF HOSPITAL EFFLUENTS WE INCLUDE I) THE EVALUATION OF CONVENTIONAL PURIFICATION PARAMETERS THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, II) THE DETERMINATION OF THE DESIGN PARAMETERS FOR A CHANGE OF TREATMENT SCALE, III) THE EVALUATION OF THE PHARMACO ELIMINATION PERFORMANCE, IV) THE IDENTIFICATION OF THEIR TRANSFORMATION PRODUCTS, V) THE MEASUREMENT OF THE ECOTOXICITY OF THE EFFLUENTS AND VI) THE CHARACTERISATION OF MICROBIAL POPULATIONS IN THE REACTOR THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS. POR OTRO LADO, DADOS LOS RESULTADOS PROMETEDORES DE PREVIOS ESTUDIOS EXPLORATORIOS CON ALGAS Y BACTERIAS DEHALOGENADORAS, HACE QUE DICHOS MICROORGANISMOS SEAN OBJETO DE ESTUDIO DETALLADO EN ESTE PRIMER BLOQUE. ON THE OTHER HAND, GIVEN THE PROMISING RESULTS OF PREVIOUS EXPLORATORY STUDIES WITH ALGAE AND DEHALOGENADORA BACTERIA, THESE MICROORGANISMS ARE SUBJECT TO DETAILED STUDY IN THIS FIRST BLOCK. IN THE SECOND BLOCK (CONSIDERED THE HEART OF THE PROJECT) THERE WILL BE CONTINUOUS PURIFICATION PROCESSES OF REAL EFFLUENTS WITH FUNGI (THE BEST CHARACTERISED ORGANISMS) AND THEIR IMPLEMENTATION WILL ALSO BE EXPLORED WITH ALGAE. FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF THE FUNGAL-BASED PROCESS AND FOR ITS APPLICATION TO THE TREATMENT OF HOSPITAL EFFLUENTS WE INCLUDE I) THE EVALUATION OF CONVENTIONAL PURIFICATION PARAMETERS THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, II) THE DETERMINATION OF THE DESIGN PARAMETERS FOR A CHANGE OF TREATMENT SCALE, III) THE EVALUATION OF THE PHARMACO ELIMINATION PERFORMANCE, IV) THE IDENTIFICATION OF THEIR TRANSFORMATION PRODUCTS, V) THE MEASUREMENT OF THE ECOTOXICITY OF THE EFFLUENTS AND VI) THE CHARACTERISATION OF MICROBIAL POPULATIONS IN THE REACTOR THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS. BUT IN ADDITION, THE COUPLING TO THE PROCESS OF DEPURATION WITH FUNGI OF POSSIBLE FILTRATION PRETREATMENTS AND ADVANCED OXIDATION TO IMPROVE THE DEGRADATION EFFICIENCY WILL BE STUDIED. In this second BLOCK BLOCK will also be designed a photobioreactor PILOT with algae to study the degradation of pharmacies first in URBAN RESIDUAL WATERS AND if it is POSSIBLE HOSPITAL EFLUENTS, WHEN PRINCIPLE WHAT WE CAN RESULT more TOXIC OR AGRESIVE FOR ALGAS._x000D_ _x000D_ THE THIRD SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT, AND COMPLEMENTING TWO OFFERS, CONSENT TO EVALUATE NOT ONLY THE EFFECTIVE OF ANTERIORMENT PLANTEED PROCESSES, but THE SUSTAINABLEITY OF PROCEDURES. TOOLS SUCH AS LIFE CYCLE ANALYSIS, IMPACT STUDY ON THE CLEANED EFFLUENT ECOSYSTEM AND ECONOMIC EVALUATION WILL BE USED FOR THIS PURPOSE. _x000D_ _x000D_ to CUMPLATE WITH ALL THESE OBJECTIVES IS NEED THE PARTICIPATION OF DISCIPLINE DIFFERENT RESEARCHERS. FOR THIS REASON, A COORDINATED PROJECT IS PROPOSED BETWEEN CHEMICAL ENGINEERS (UAB), SPECIALISTS IN ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY (ICRA) AND MICROBIOLOGISTS (UAB). THUS, THE FOURTH BLOCK OF OBJECTIVES INCLUDES THE COORDINATION TASKS BETWEEN THE WORKING GROUPS, AS WELL AS THE INTERACTION WITH THE EPOS OR ENTITIES INTERESTED IN THE RESULTS AND WILL BE DEVELOPED THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT.
