The Pilot Plant for the Elaboration of Experimental Feed (PPEPE) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has been operating from the mid-80s to March 2015, when its activity was interrupted by safety deficiencies detected by the Integrated Prevention and Occupational Health Service of the UPV, as a result of the technical and legal obsolescence of its teams. The resumption of the activity of the PPEPE of the UPV requires improvements in the amount of 198,454,53 (with VAT)._x000D_ These improvements are essential for the continuation of research lines developed in Animal Nutrition and Livestock and the Environment by groups of the UPV, which require experimental feed in which circumstances exist that prevent it from being delegated to commercial feed mills._x000D_ The impact of the work carried out is illustrated by competitive research projects (31), the research agreements with companies (13) and the publications in journals indexed in JCR (59) that have involved the production of experimental feed in the PPEPE._x000D_ In addition, it has generated transferable knowledge, contributing to new recommendations for the formulation of feed and to revalue agro-industrial by-products for economically and environmentally sustainable animal production._x000D_ Finally, this infrastructure, with very few replicas in Spain, has supported Universities or Research Centres (12) and companies (16). La Planta Piloto para Elaboración de Piensos Experimentales (PPEPE) de la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) ha estado funcionando desde mitad de los años 80 hasta marzo de 2015, cuando su actividad se interrumpió por deficiencias detectadas en materia de seguridad por el Servicio Integrado de Prevención y Salud Laboral de la UPV, como consecuencia de la obsolescencia técnica y legal de parte de sus equipos. La reanudación de la actividad de la PPEPE de la UPV requiere mejoras por importe de 198.454,53 ¿ (con IVA)._x000D_ Estas mejoras son imprescindibles para la continuidad de líneas de investigación desarrolladas en Nutrición Animal y Ganadería y Medio Ambiente por grupos de la UPV, que requieren piensos experimentales en cuya elaboración concurren circunstancias que impiden delegarla en fábricas de pienso comerciales._x000D_ El impacto del trabajo realizado queda ilustrado por los proyectos de investigación competitivos (31), los convenios de investigación con empresas (13) y las publicaciones en revistas indexadas en JCR (59) que han supuesto elaboración de piensos experimentales en la PPEPE._x000D_ Además, ha generado conocimiento transferible, contribuyendo a nuevas recomendaciones para formulación de piensos y a revalorizar subproductos agroindustriales para una producción animal sostenible económica y medioambientalmente._x000D_ Por último, esta infraestructura, con muy pocas réplicas en España, ha prestado apoyo a Universidades o Centros de Investigación (12) y a empresas (16).
