In a previous project of our research group (FIS 14/010040) we have demonstrated the presence of bisphenol A (BPA) in urine and saliva in 750 school-age children and an association with BMI of the children studied has been found. Since BPA is gradually being replaced by other bisphenolic compounds with hormonal activity in the food industry, it is necessary to assess and identify the sources of exposure of the study population to bisphenol A analogs and to assess a possible relationship with overweight and obesity in this period of particular susceptibility such as childhood. The main objective of this study is to study the dietary exposure to compounds analogous to BPA with endocrine disruptive activity and its possible association with child overweight or obesity in the school population participating in the project FIS 14/01040. Methodology: Nutritional study evaluating the questionnaires of semi-quantitative CF, R24h and life habits collected in the project Fis 14/010040. The presence of BPA analogues in foods commonly consumed by the study population and their presence in saliva and urine will be analysed using QuEChERS, HPLC and GC/MS techniques. The risk of exposure of the school population to compounds similar to bisphenol A will be assessed, which will allow the design and implementation of educational programmes in schools to prevent exposure to these compounds with endocrine disruptive activity.
