THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS SUB-PROJECT ARE CLEARLY PART OF CHALLENGE II: FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY; PRODUCTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITY; SUSTAINABILITY OF NATURAL RESOURCES, MARINE AND MARINE RESEARCH, AND MORE SPECIFICALLY IN THE IMPROVEMENT OF COMPETITIVENESS AND SUSTAINABILITY OF AQUACULTURE, THROUGH THE IMPROVEMENT OF EFFICIENCY IN FOOD. EUROPEAN AQUACULTURE IS A MODERN INDUSTRY THAT MOVES EUR 3 TRILLION A YEAR, WITH TWO MAIN LIMITING FACTORS BEING FOOD AND HEALTH. THEREFORE, FURTHER PROGRESS IS NEEDED IN BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE PHYSIOLOGICAL AND METABOLIC EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT ADDITIVES, NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES (METHIONINE, CA. ESSENTIAL FATS, PHOSPHOLIPIDS, PHOSPHORUS, MINERALS, VITAMINS), EXTREMELY LOW LEVELS OF FISH MEAL AND OILS IN FATTENING DIETS AND DIFFERENT GROWTH POTENTIALS AS RESULTS OF GENETIC SELECTION PROGRAMS BASED ON GROWTH PARAMETERS. THUS, SUB-PROJECT 1 WITHIN THE COORDINATED PROJECT MI2-FISH AIMS TO PHENOTYPE FROM A MULTIDISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVE THE METABOLIC AND HEALTH STATE OF FISH IN CULTIVATION, USING THE GOLDEN MODEL (SPARUS AURATA). THE ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES AND DATA WILL BE CARRIED OUT USING TRANSCRIPTOMICA, PROTEOMIC, INMUNOCITOQUIMICA, IN SITU HYBRIDISATION, BIOCHEMISTRY AND BIOINFORMATICS TOOLS, USING THE FISH TRANSCRIPTOMICA DATABASES (WWW.NUTRIGROUP-IATS.ORG/SEABREAMDB; WWW.NUTRIGROUP-IATS.ORG/SEABASSDB) DEVELOPED BY THE RESEARCH GROUP. SPECIAL ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO THE SIRTUINES AS EPIGENETIC REGULATORS THAT RELATE CHANGES IN THE ENVIRONMENT TO THE METABOLIC AND NUTRITIONAL STATE OF THE ANIMAL. FOR THIS PURPOSE THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF THE FAMILY WILL BE MOLECULARLY CHARACTERISED, ITS TISSUE EXPRESSION PATTERN WILL BE MAPPED AND ITS FUNCTIONAL REGULATION WILL BE ADDRESSED BASED ON NUTRITIONAL AND PATHOLOGICAL CHALLENGES IN COLLABORATION WITH SUBPROJECT 2. THE EFFECTS OF BUTYRATE AND RESVERATROL AS GROWTH AND HEALTH FACTORS WILL ALSO BE ADDRESSED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COORDINATED PROJECT. LIKEWISE, THE DIFFERENT REGULATION OF SIRTUINS IN RELATION TO OTHER METABOLIC MARKERS WILL BE ANALYSED IN STRAINS WITH DIFFERENT GROWTH POTENTIAL. NON-INVASIVE MARKERS OF EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF NUTRIONAL ENTERITIS AND/OR PARASITIC ORIGIN WILL BE VALIDATED. THE INTESTINAL MUCUS PROTEOME WILL BE MAPPED AND THE INFLUENCE ON THE SAME DIFFERENT NUTRITIONAL AND PARASITIC CHALLENGES WILL BE DETERMINED. THE KNOWLEDGE GENERATED WILL SERVE FOR A BETTER DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF AQUACULTURE FEED IN TERMS OF IMPROVEMENT OF PRODUCTION. THE LAST OBJECTIVE IS THE APPLICATION OF THIS INFORMATION FOR AN ADEQUATE PHENOTYPING OF THE METABOLIC AND HEALTH STATE OF FISH IN CULTIVATION FROM A NUTRITIONAL, EPIGENETIC AND ANIMAL HEALTH PERSPECTIVE. ACHIEVING THESE OBJECTIVES WILL PROVIDE NEW INFORMATION THAT WILL BE EXTREMELY USEFUL TO PREVENT AND/OR MITIGATE THE INCIDENCE OF ENTERITIS. THE OBJECTIVES ARE INNOVATIVE AND APPLICABLE NOT ONLY TO THE SPECIES AND DIETS USED, BUT ALSO TO OTHER FISH AND EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS. (English)

LOS OBJETIVOS DE ESTE SUBPROYECTO SE ENMARCAN CLARAMENTE DENTRO DEL RETO II: SEGURIDAD Y CALIDAD ALIMENTARIA; ACTIVIDAD AGRARIA PRODUCTIVA Y SOSTENIBLE; SOSTENIBILIDAD DE RECURSOS NATURALES, INVESTIGACION MARINA Y MARITIMA, Y MAS CONCRETAMENTE EN LA MEJORA DE COMPETITIVIDAD Y SOSTENIBILIDAD DE LA ACUICULTURA, A TRAVES DE LA MEJORA DE LA EFICIENCIA EN LA ALIMENTACION. LA ACUICULTURA EUROPEA ES UNA MODERNA INDUSTRIA QUE MUEVE 3 BILLONES DE EUROS AL AÑO, CUYOS DOS PRINCIPALES FACTORES LIMITANTES SON LA ALIMENTACION Y LA SALUD. POR TANTO, ES NECESARIO SEGUIR AVANZANDO EN EL CONOCIMIENTO BASICO SOBRE LOS EFECTOS FISIOLOGICOS Y METABOLICOS DE DIFERENTES ADITIVOS, DEFICIENCIAS NUTRICIONALES (METIONINA, AC. GRASOS ESENCIALES, FOSFOLIPIDOS, FOSFORO, MINERALES, VITAMINAS), NIVELES EXTREMADAMENTE BAJOS DE HARINAS Y ACEITES DE PESCADO EN LAS DIETAS DE ENGORDE Y DIFERENTES POTENCIALES DE CRECIMIENTO COMO RESULTADOS DE PROGRAMAS DE SELECCION GENETICA EN BASES A PARAMETROS DE CRECIMIENTO. ASI PUES, EL SUBPROYECTO 1 DENTRO PROYECTO COORDINADO MI2-FISH TIENE COMO OBJETIVO FENOTIPAR DESDE UNA PERSPECTIVA MULTIDISCIPLINAR EL ESTADO METABOLICO Y DE SALUD DE PECES EN CULTIVO, UTILIZANDO COMO MODELO LA DORADA (SPARUS AURATA). EL ANALISIS DE LAS MUESTRAS Y DE LOS DATOS SE LLEVARA A CABO CON HERRAMIENTAS DE TRANSCRIPTOMICA, PROTEOMICA, INMUNOCITOQUIMICA, HIBRIDIZACION IN SITU, BIOQUIMICA Y BIOINFORMATICA, HACIENDO USO DE LAS BASES DE DATOS DE TRANSCRIPTOMICA DE PECES (WWW.NUTRIGROUP-IATS.ORG/SEABREAMDB; WWW.NUTRIGROUP-IATS.ORG/SEABASSDB) QUE HA DESARROLLADO EL GRUPO DE INVESTIGACION. SE PRESTARA ESPECIAL ATENCION A LAS SIRTUINAS COMO REGULADORES EPIGENETICOS QUE RELACIONAN CAMBIOS EN EL AMBIENTE CON EL ESTADO METABOLICO Y NUTRICIONAL DEL ANIMAL. PARA ELLO SE CARACTERIZARAN MOLECULARMENTE LOS DIFERENTES COMPONENTES DE LA FAMILIA, SE MAPEARA SU PATRON DE EXPRESION TISULAR Y SE ABORDARA SU REGULACION FUNCIONAL EN BASE A RETOS NUTRICIONALES Y PATOLOGICOS EN COLABORACION CON EL SUBPROYECTO 2. LOS EFECTOS DEL BUTIRATO Y DEL RESVERATROL COMO FACTORES DE CRECIMIENTO Y DE SALUD TAMBIEN SERAN ABORDADOS EN EL CONTEXTO DEL PROYECTO COORDINADO. ASIMISMO, LA DIFERENTE REGULACION DE LAS SIRTUINAS EN RELACION CON OTROS MARCADORES METABOLICOS SE ANALIZARA EN CEPAS CON DIFERENTE POTENCIAL DE CRECIMIENTO. SE VALIDARAN MARCADORES NO INVASIVOS DE DIAGNOSTICO PRECOZ DE ENTERITIS NUTRIONAL Y/O DE ORIGEN PARASITARIO. SE MAPEARA EL PROTEOMA DEL MUCUS INTESTINAL Y SE DETERMINARA LA INFLUENCIA QUE TIENEN SOBRE EL MISMO DIFERENTES RETOS NUTRICIONALES Y PARASITARIOS. EL CONOCIMIENTO GENERADO SERVIRA PARA UN MEJOR DISEÑO Y EVALUACION DE LOS PIENSOS DE ACUICULTURA EN TERMINOS DE MEJORA DE LA PRODUCCION. EL OBJETIVO ULTIMO ES LA APLICACION DE ESTA INFORMACION PARA UN ADECUADO FENOTIPADO DEL ESTADO METABOLICO Y DE SALUD DE LOS PECES EN CULTIVO DESDE UNA PERSPECTIVA NUTRICIONAL, EPIGENETICA Y DE SALUD ANIMAL. EL ALCANZAR ESTOS OBJETIVOS PROPORCIONARA NUEVA INFORMACION QUE SERA EXTREMADAMENTE UTIL PARA PREVENIR Y/O MITIGAR LA INCIDENCIA DE LAS ENTERITIS. LOS OBJETIVOS SON INNOVADORES Y APLICABLES NO SOLO A LA ESPECIE Y DIETAS UTILIZADAS, SINO TAMBIEN A OTROS PECES Y CONDICIONES EXPERIMENTALES. (Spanish)
